Slow Magic Sanctuary Sessions (1:1)

A Slow Magic Sanctuary Session is a place where nothing is trying to improve you.

It is a held hour or ninety minutes where you do not need to explain yourself, justify your pace, or perform clarity. The sanctuary is created through steadiness, attention, and a shared agreement to move at the speed your body and life can actually sustain.

 This is a space where:
– urgency is set down at the door
– you are not rushed toward insight or action
– complexity is allowed to stay complex
– the parts of you that rarely get airtime are welcome

Sanctuary is room.

Room to feel what has been waiting.
Room to hear yourself think.
Room to notice what wants tending before anything wants solving.

Approach and Lineage:

This work is shaped by a long devotion to listening, to bodies, to stories, to what survives outside dominant systems of meaning. My approach draws from contemplative practice, ritual life, and years of sitting with people at thresholds where certainty thins and something more honest asks to be felt.

Sanctuary sessions can hold a wide range of human experience. People come carrying questions about sexuality and desire, about gender and embodiment, about faith lost or left behind. Some arrive recovering from religious abuse or spiritual coercion, learning again how to trust their own inner authority. Others come living with chronic illness, pain, disability, or nervous systems shaped by overwhelm and long endurance. Many arrive at moments of transition, grief, endings, beginnings, creative upheaval, when old forms no longer fit and new ones have not yet arrived.

This work is especially hospitable to people whose ways of knowing are non-linear. Those who think in images, sensations, memory, symbol, and story. Those who have lived at the margins or outside the frame. Those whose lives, bodies, or desires have been misunderstood, regulated, or asked to conform.

Ritual is part of this lineage, not as performance or belief system, but as a way of tending life. Simple, grounded acts that help mark change, honor what matters, and restore relationship with time, body, and meaning. Story is also central. The narratives we inherit, the ones we resist, and the ones we slowly learn to tell more truthfully.

There are no taboos here. No part of your life is too much, too strange, or too ordinary to be welcomed. You bring what you choose. We work with what arrives. I stay with you in the listening, in the not knowing, the unraveling, the re orientation, and the slow work of belonging to your own life.

How this is different from therapy or coaching

These sessions are not therapy. I am not diagnosing, treating, or guiding you toward clinical outcomes. They are also not coaching. There are no goals to hit, productivity arcs, accountability frameworks, or pressure to optimize your life.

What we are doing is closer to companioned listening.

I am with you as a steady, attuned presence while you explore:

– where your life has become too loud, too fast, or too narrow
– what needs tending rather than fixing
– the rituals that help you stay in relationship with your days
– the stories you are living inside, and the ones you are ready to loosen
– ways of knowing that don’t move in straight lines
– what you want to live toward that hasn’t had language yet

If therapy is often oriented toward healing past injury, and coaching toward achieving future change, these sessions live in the present tense. They are about restoring your ability to feel your own timing, preferences, and inner signals now.

Many people do this work alongside therapy. Some come when therapy feels too structured or overly verbal. Others come when coaching felt like pressure disguised as support.

Who this is for

Slow Magic Sanctuary Sessions are for people who:

– feel worn down by constant demand and decision-making
– are at a threshold, transition, or turning point
– sense something shifting but can’t yet name it
– live with chronic illness, fatigue, or nervous system sensitivity
– want to explore aliveness in neurodivergence
– feel estranged from their own rhythm
– are creatively blocked or creatively overwhelmed
– want depth without being analyzed
– want support without being managed

This space tends to suit people who think in images, sensations, story, and association more than in linear plans. It works especially well for artists, caregivers, neurodivergent humans, and those re-learning how to listen to themselves after years of overriding their own needs.

What we do together

Each session is shaped by what you bring. There is no fixed agenda.

Our time may include:

– slow, spacious conversation
– noticing how your body responds as you speak
– staying with something just long enough for it to clarify
– working with an image, object, memory, or question
– hand crafted ritual or symbolic acts to mark change or transition
– reflective prompts for writing or making, if useful
– naming what has been unnamed
– letting something remain unfinished

Nothing is forced. Nothing is extracted.
The work happens through presence, not pressure.

You leave not with a checklist, but with a clearer sense of:

– what matters right now
– what you can release
– what you want to protect
– what deserves your care next

In simple terms

Slow Magic Sanctuary Sessions are for people who want a place to come back to themselves without being fixed, pushed, or reshaped.

They are for people who know that change happens when there is enough time and enough safety for truth to show itself.

Slow Magic Sanctuary Sessions are offered in 60- or 90-minute sessions, held by video or phone.

Some people come for a short period during a transition or moment of uncertainty. Others work with me over longer stretches of time, letting the sessions become a steady place to return.

Sessions are currently offered at the following rates:

60 minutes — $75
90 minutes — $110

If cost is a barrier, you are welcome to name that when you reach out. I hold a small number of reduced-rate spaces as part of my commitment to access and collective care.

This work is not psychotherapy or medical treatment, and it does not replace clinical or medical care. Many people engage in sanctuary sessions alongside therapy or other forms of support.

If you feel drawn to this work, the next step is a simple inquiry. I offer a free twenty-minute conversation to see whether this work feels like a good fit for both of us.

You can write to me with a few sentences about what brings you here, or simply say that you are curious and would like to explore whether this is a good fit. I will respond personally with availability and next steps.
